Nestled in the mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina, The Broken Compass is a family farm and creative enterprise built around flowers, hospitality, and life on the land. What began as a dream to build a more intentional way of living has grown into a collection of businesses dedicated to celebrating beauty, community, and meaningful experiences.

At the center of everything we do is The Broken Compass Farm, our regenerative Appalachian homestead where we grow flowers, herbs, and food while stewarding the land that inspires our work. The farm provides the foundation for both CHOP+STEM Floral Design and VARDO Mobile Bar, connecting every bouquet, gathering, and celebration back to the place we call home.

Through CHOP+STEM, we create wedding florals, event installations, and seasonal designs inspired by the natural beauty of the mountains. Our style is rooted in the changing seasons, blending garden-inspired elegance with a relaxed and organic approach. Whether designing for an intimate gathering or a large celebration, our goal is to create floral experiences that feel personal, memorable, and authentic.

VARDO was created from a love of hospitality and the belief that great gatherings bring people together in meaningful ways. From handcrafted cocktails and mocktails to curated beverage experiences, VARDO provides bar services for weddings, private events, and community celebrations. We focus on thoughtful service, quality ingredients, and creating an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and connected.
